American researchers came to the conclusion that some of the chemicals that are widespread in the everyday life of modern man contribute to infertility in women.

These are perfluorocarbon chemicals that are used in the production of water- and grease-proof food packaging, frying pans, clothes, carpets and other household items.

Over the years, perfluorocarbons, which effectively deal with dirt and grease, were considered absolutely harmless.

However, now specialists from the University of California in Los Angeles for the first time established the relationship between these substances and female infertility.

This conclusion was made on the basis of a study of 1,240 pregnant women in Denmark. Scientists measured the level of the two most common perfluorocarbons in their blood. Women were also asked about how quickly they managed to get pregnant.

As a result, a correlation was found between the level of perfluorocarbons in the blood and the problems with conception.

At the same time, Professor Jorn Olsen, who led the research, believes that it is very difficult for couples trying to conceive a child to avoid contact with perfluorocarbons.

"With this, especially nothing you do," he says.. - It is very difficult to get rid of perfluorocarbons and they remain in the body for a very long time. Probably, in the future it will be possible to find a replacement for them ".

It is not yet clear how exactly perfluorocarbons affect the human body.

One researcher Chunyuan Fei says that women most exposed to perfluorocarbons often complained of an irregular menstrual cycle, which may indicate the effects of chemicals on hormones.

British scientists insist on the need for further studies to confirm the connection between the presence of these compounds and infertility in women.
