Researchers from Texas have invented a new medicine that turns thick mice ... into healthy and slender rodents.

In their opinion, the course of treatment, leading to a reduction in fat tissue by reducing its blood supply, is quite applicable for humans.

While clinical trials in humans have not yet begun, experimental mice lose up to 30 percent of the weight in just four weeks. It is significant that previously a miracle medicine was intended to fight cancer.

There is, however, one "but": since the study is only at an early stage, scientists caution - there is a potential risk of side effects.

It is well known that: a medicine injected into mice injected increases their metabolic rate and significantly reduces the appetite. Animals tolerate the drug well, only a small part of them have the same side effects, which scientists say.

The next step is to test a new drug on baboons, which, in terms of weight gain, do not differ from a person.

Preliminary results of the study are published in the journal Nature Medicine.
