Children who are breastfed are less likely to have childhood infections and are less likely to have allergies and obesity. British researchers have shown that breastfeeding and slow growth in the first weeks and months of life has a protective effect on cardiovascular diseases, according to an online edition for girls and women aged 14 to 35 Pannochka. Net "Diets that promote faster growth put children at risk for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, a greater predisposition to diabetes and obesity in adulthood - and these are four risk factors for heart attack and stroke," said Professor Elan Lucas (Alan Lucas) from the Institute of Child Health in London. "Our testimonies show that the healthier health of children in breastfeeding is explained by the fact that they grow more slowly in the first weeks of life".

According to Professor Alan Lucas, the effect of breastfeeding on blood pressure and cholesterol levels in adulthood is much stronger than all the preventive measures taken by adults subsequently to control the risk factors for cardiovascular disease (except for medication).

Professor Elan Lucas and his colleagues compared the health status of 216 adolescents, who in infancy were fed naturally and artificially. In adolescents who were breastfed in infancy, the ratio of bad cholesterol to good cholesterol was 14% lower, and there were also lower concentrations of protein that is a marker of cardiovascular disease.

Scientists also found that, regardless of the weight of the child at birth, the faster the children grew in the first weeks and months of life, the greater the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke in adulthood. The impact was the same among boys and girls. "The more human milk you get in infancy, the lower your cholesterol level, the lower your blood pressure after 16 years," says Professor Elaine Lucas. He believes that there is a hormonal stimulant, which in the early stages of life affects the growth of the child and determines the risk of cardiovascular disease in adulthood ".
