Scientists have discovered new evidence of harmful effects on the human body of red meat, reports BBC.
Specialists conducted a study in which more than 500 thousand. Person for 10 years. It turned out that lovers of red meat increased the risk of premature death with the regular use of this product. And those who prefer white meat, on the contrary, the risk of premature death was reduced.
Participants in the study were divided into three groups: those who ate approximately 160 grams of red meat per day, those who ate about 25 grams of red meat and those who consumed white meat.
It turned out that people who consumed red meat, increased the risk of early death, cancer and cardiovascular disease - in men, this percentage was 11, and in women - 16. And in the group of people who consume white meat, the risk of early death was reduced on the contrary.
Scientists believe that the results of this study can serve as the basis for changing their diet by many people who are worried about their health. The results of the study were published in Archives of Internal Medicine.
