Kiev developer Lyubomir Milevsky wrote a bot for Telegram, which monitors the air condition in Kiev and informs its users if the level of pollution is increased.
Lyubomir decided to create a bot after the next case with smog over Kiev. Previously, air pollution could be monitored on the map of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service, but this service is no longer supported..
"The bot shows the average value for the city. I and several friends have smart homes with sensors. I take this data in different parts of the city, process it on the server and give it to the bot, and it informs people, "says the developer..
Now the bot is processing data from six PurpleAir sensors: two on the left bank, four on the right. Lubomir is now trying to contact the manufacturer of such sensors to find out how many users in Kiev - perhaps it will be possible to connect more data to the bot. Detectors measure a mixture of liquid and solid particles in the air (PM2. five).
The bot updates the data once per hour, pollution is measured according to the US EPA standard, it has four levels: 0-50 - everything is good, 51-100 - the health risk is insignificant, 101-150 - there is a health risk, it is better not to walk for a long time, more 150 - it's dangerous, don't go out without a mask. If the index rises above 101 - the bot will inform users about the danger.
According to the developer, the bot has been working for two weeks already and twice the average city index has changed to 110 and 118.
