SETI specialists have implemented many projects to find and establish contact with extraterrestrial beings. According to today's chief astronomer of the Institute Seth Shostak, it is likely that the next 10-12 years will bring humanity acquaintance with representatives of extraterrestrial civilizations, Bagnet informs. The scientist said that, the radio telescopes of SETI record many signals every day. However, most of them are of earth origin. At the same time, sometimes, every few years, scientists receive signals, the decoding of which has to spend a lot of time.

Chief astronomer of SETI Seth Shostak is convinced that in the shortest possible time people will have evidence of the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations. The scientist even concluded that this would happen in the next two decades.

According to the researcher, representatives of extraterrestrial civilizations are at a higher stage of development than people. It is very likely that they do not have bodies in the biological sense of the word. The scientist believes that an alien is a manifestation of an artificial intelligence.

In addition, the astronomer finds it highly probable that the aliens are hostile towards humanity in spite of whether they are of a biological nature or not. Anyway, humanity sends various signals into space since the Second World War.
