Baku is the capital and largest city of Azerbaijan on the Caspian Sea, with about 2.3 million people. One of the world's oldest oil centres, its Old City with the Maiden Tower and the Shirvanshahs' Palace is a UNESCO site. Azerbaijan supports Ukraine's territorial integrity.
