On Sunday, January 19, the men's mass start took place in Ruhpolding, Germany, as part of the fifth round of the Biathlon World Cup.

Ukraine was represented in the race by Dmitry Pidruchny and Vitaly Mandzin.

The first one started very well and approached the second milestone in the group of leaders, but one miss sent him to the middle of the second ten, where Dmitry dropped even lower and finished only 24th.

Mandzin also finished outside the top 20 with four misses.. But the struggle for leadership turned out to be quite interesting.

The Italian Tommaso Giacomel managed to pass all the limits without mistakes and win the race, Lagreid with one penalty and Boe with two mistakes tried, but were unable to impose a serious fight on the Italian.
