Italian biathlete Lisa Vittozzi said she will miss the current season.
The 29-year-old biathlete said that she has health problems that she wants to solve before the 2026 Olympics.
" Unfortunately, a problem that arose at an important point in preparation forced me to stop.
When I returned to more intense training, my body could not cope even with less significant loads.
We decided not to force a return in order to avoid further risks and not to disrupt training in the following months. We have shifted our focus to the Olympic Games Milan 2026, which is the main goal of this Olympic cycle,” Vittozzi is quoted as saying by FISI.
Lisa does not compete due to back problems. Last season she won the Big Crystal Globe.
Earlier, Ukraine named the lineup for the fourth stage of the Biathlon World Cup.
