Besiktas is no longer actively pursuing the signing of striker Mohamed Salah. The football director of the Istanbul club Onder Ozen told about this.

According to him, representatives of Besiktas carried out several negotiations with the Egyptian forward, but after initial progress the negotiations practically stopped.

" Its international popularity is very high. At the beginning of the negotiations, I and Vincenzo Italiano teamed up with Mohamed Salah. However, the positive dynamics that were in the first days, starting from 21 days, have returned to normal,” Ozen said.

The functionary also explained that the club’s commitment was not to force the negotiation process.

“Our president has correctly identified the moment when he needs to step down and lose his position. Replacing a populist solution with praise for a realistic solution currently undergoing negotiations. Mohamed Salah’s right is still out for us,” added the Besiktas football director.

Last season, Salah played 41 matches, scoring 12 goals and providing ten assists.
