The head coach of the French national team, Didier Deschamps, commented on his team’s defeat in the match for the third place of the 2026 Emergency against England (4:6).

" MI lost 0:4. We had a hell of a first half. They showed us a fighting spirit, and there were speeches that we did good. We had two chances to level the score to 4:4, and after that we moved forward more actively.

We were afraid of those who were together. This is my fault - I probably didn’t earn what was needed in the first half. It was similar to grue, it seems like the injury is painful. Of course, it would have been nicer to sit in the third place.

We came here with great ambitions. We have heard a lot of positive speeches. We could not overcome the match against Spain. This is not a complete failure. We have a bright warehouse, young people who will continue to progress. We have the talent to achieve even good results.

Especially for men, it was truly amazing that both of them were more expensive. We have spent a lot of time at the beginning of our preparation. It's wonderful. There is disappointment in the sporting aspect, but there is little possibility of evoking emotions, and millions of French people could feel them. This is a championship of the world - there is nothing beautiful for it,” the FIFA press service quotes Deschamps.
