Yuri Tielemans became the author of a new world championship record after the dramatic match of the 1/16 finals of the 2026 Emergency between Belgium and Senegal.

The Belgian national team's defender takes the penalty at the end of the extra hour, and the ball goes through the line at 124 minutes 43 seconds. This very blow brought Belgium victory with a score of 3:

2 and progress to the 1/8 finals.

Thus Tielemans scored the most impressive goal in the history of world championships. The previous record belongs to the Algerian Abdelmoumen Djab, which was achieved in the 120th minute 49th second of the 2014 World Cup match.

The third in the ranking is Alessandro Del Piero, who scored for Italy in the 120th minute of the 13th second in 2006.

Lastly, Belgium made it to the 1/8 finals of the World Cup, playing against the USA.
