FIFA has decided to provide over 100 million dollars in additional donations to the teams participating in the upcoming World Cup. This time, having become confirmed, was spent on the transfer of delegations to the host countries of the tournament - the USA, Canada and Mexico.
At a meeting at the Vancouver FIFA Council, the basic payments of the skin federation increased by 2 million dollars. Thus, the minimum guarantee for the skin team is now 12.5 million dollars. This decision was praised after low national associations (especially from Europe) were informed about possible financial surpluses from participation in the tournament due to early elimination of the playoffs.
An additional financial burden has become tax payments for teams to plunder from the United States, such as those raised in Canada and Mexico.. Starting with new minds, financial support for pre-tournament preparation increased from 1.5 to 2.5 million dollars, and the basic prize fund for skin collection increased from 9 to 10.
The total prize fund for the tournament is 655 million dollars, for which the upcoming world champion will receive 50 million dollars. To put things into perspective: during the 2022 emergency in Qatar, the Argentine team earned 42 million dollars, and the fund for 32 teams reached 440 million.
FIFA itself expects that the total income from the tournament, which starts on the 11th of June, will amount to at least 11 billion dollars.. In addition, FIFA plans to add an additional 16 million dollars as subsidies for team delegation costs and to give federations an expanded quota for tickets to major matches..
According to the rules of the World Championship, the organizers bear a significant part of the logistics costs. FIFA will pay for: Airfare in business class for the skin federation.
Accommodation and food for a delegation of 50 people (starting five days before the first match and ending the day after the team's elimination).
Internal movements within state countries. Special fleet of vehicles, including vans for transporting equipment.
Currently, the national federations are faced with the responsibility of paying for adequate insurance for drivers and personnel (such as injuries, illnesses and accidents), non-transferred hotel expenses, as well as security of accommodation for members.
