The Romanian Football Federation announced the completion of the merger with Mircea Lucescu, who no longer plays for the national team.
The 80-year-old coach leaves the team after the period during which Romania failed to qualify for the World Championship 2026. The federation responded to the coach for his contribution to the development of the national team and signified his rich evidence in football.
The search for the new head coach is disturbing. Among the possible candidates is the Romanian football legend Gheorghe Hadgi. At some point, Lucescu himself may be promoted to another position within the structure of the federation.
Before one of the trainings, Lucescu was hospitalized due to a sharp increase in self-perception and heart problems.
