Arsenal's great attacking player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain shared details of his departure from the club in 2017.
Behind the words of the 32-year-old Englishman, who currently plays for the Scottish Celtic, the key factor was the unprecedented outfit of the legendary Gunners head coach Arsene Wenger regarding his position on the field.
" I fit right in there, and I felt comfortable. But the main problem lay in the fact that they constantly told me that I was playing in the center of the field, but then it sounded: “Happy season. We are waiting for the coming season"
One of the reasons why I moved to Arsenal was because Wenger told me:
“I want you to be a central supporter and develop you in this role, otherwise you will become like a winger.”.
I could play one match at the center, but they couldn’t get me from the warehouse, but suddenly I needed to find a place for other players. And I say, turning to the flank. At the pouch, I started to play laterally, and then thought that I was collapsing in the wrong direction,” AOC said in an interview with All Out Football.
Apparently, Oxlade-Chamberlain made 198 appearances for Arsenal before moving to Liverpool for ?35 million in 2017.
