The semi-final match of the playoff round for the selection of the Emergency Situation 2026 between the national teams of Ukraine and Sweden, served by a Portuguese team of referees. The UEFA press service reports this.

Joao Pinheiro was appointed as the referee, who will assist Bruno Jesus and Luciano Maia. The role of reserve referee went to Erik Lambrechts from Belgium.

For the VAR system, credit goes to Thiago Martins and Andre Narcis.

Previously, the 38-year-old Portuguese officiated in two matches of the national team of Ukraine - against Virmenia (5:0) and Albania (2:1) - twice against Liza nations in 2022 and 2024. He also worked at the matches of Shakhtar, Dynamo and Oleksandriya in European Cups.

It is a guess that the match between Ukraine and Sweden will take place on February 26 against Valencia at the Sciutat de Valencia stadium. The starting whistle will sound at 21:45 to Kiev.
