The coach of the Chernivtsi team shared his thoughts after reaching the semifinals of the Ukrainian Cup.
Head coach of Bukovina Sergei Shishchenko commented on his team’s victory in the 1/4 finals of the Ukrainian Cup against LNZ in a series of post-match penalties.
“Obviously, there was no specific goal to repeat the minor success of the Cup. I have already said that we do not exclude this tournament from priorities. We want to go through the Cup. Moreover, now the tournament will be held in a new format, which is even more acceptable for PFL teams - and now there is a real opportunity to compete for the trophy. Therefore, we carefully prepared for this game. The championship at Pershaya Liza starts in two years, so we directly prepared for the LNZ with very good minds.
Immediately I am re-awakening emotions that I have not felt before. My coaching career has had the first post-match penalty shootout, and it ended successfully. I don’t really know how to behave in such moments, if you just marvel at how the boys punch the eleven meters. We love football for these emotions. These are the most important results after such matches. I'm so damn sure I can overcome the boys.
The goalkeeping coach prepared Herman for the post-match penalty shootout? Vіsno. This is how you wake up before a skin battle. And today before the match I was wondering how the stinks were getting ready for possible penalties. Artem Ivanovich showed Herman on the tablet how to take penalties from the LNZ Gravity. We have analyzed all available information. I asked here.
This was the first penalty shootout in my coaching career. I just don't know how to behave. If you watch on TV how other teams take penalties and how players and coaches react - all in one. If I am with you, then the emotions are obviously completely different. It’s time to renew the positive emotions that we have passed and that Bukovina will play again in the Ukrainian Cup semi-final.
We analyzed the remaining matches of LNZ - \u200b\u200bagainst Epicenter and Polissia. We clearly understood how stinks can come out. They also noticed the 4-4-2 scheme - the stinks were in the match with Polissyam, but if the starting warehouse of the opponent was damaged, it became clear that there would be stinks behind the 5-3-2 scheme. I can’t say that they were playing so aggressively in front. I would like to play harder and more clearly in the attack. We realized that it is necessary to overcome the pressure of a rival, especially in another time. In the first time the pressure was smaller, and in the other the supernik was added. We saw the rest of the battles and won the penalty shootout.
At moments it seemed that the graves were often looking for a pass to replace the blow? Here I am 100% okay. We emphasized your respect during the break. We showed the Gravians moments where they needed to take more initiative on themselves and shoot on goal. The other halves began to beat more often, although not as richly as we would have liked. We were coping with this situation, because in the first half there was a problem - we were retrimming the ball and were afraid of taking responsibility for ourselves. So the actions in the attack are not entirely satisfying. I want us to play more aggressively, dominate more, attack more. However, it is important to maintain a balance - understand how we are attacking and how we are defending. We also prepared for counterattacks, for quick attacks from LNZ. We realized that they can initiate an initiative and check for our favors. So we were ready for these swift attacks and serves at the penalty area. What plan did the team do well today?.
I told the boys before the match: if we pass the LNZ, then we will win the Cup. And I will say this seriously. I'm excited that we can compete for the trophy. There are no weak opponents in the semi-finals, it doesn’t matter who wins the foal. Our goal is to reach the final of the Ukrainian Cup. Ale for whom it is necessary to pass one opponent,” - suggest the words of Shishchenko, the club’s press service.
