One of the brightest highlights of the ongoing season in the UPL was the Venezuelan forward Krivbasu Gleiker Mendoza. After 9 rounds, the 23-year-old forward scored five goals and entered the top of the list of the highest UPL goalscorers.

In an exclusive interview with Football. ua Mendoza spoke about his progress this season, the work with Patrick van Leeuwen and the positive performance of Kryvbas in the streaming championship.

– Gleikere, it’s almost up to date. You sacrificed to Dynamo in the 10th round match. What didn't work out for your team in this game

– We finished an unimportant match. That's how it turned out. At the first half, they began to make excuses, as they gave us three missed goals.. It’s a pity that the next one didn’t manage to change the course of the match. Nothing has been spent, we are preparing for the upcoming no less important fights.

– It turns out that we will become the highest scorer of the current season in the UPL. You scored five goals. Check with yourself to see if you can show a good result?

– By God, this is the result of our work with our teammates. I'm already grateful for everything that stinks for me. So far, I'm sure there are still a lot of goals scored ahead.

– I especially remember one of your balls at the Epicenter gate, when you ran the same way across the entire field and missed the kick. In this episode, a lot of running practice in training helped you?

– It’s true, this is the legacy of robots in training. I try to work a lot on my physical form. They have the right to help score such goals and be in the right place at the right time.

– You have a good Latin American diaspora in Krivbas. Do you have any similar traditions that you brought to Ukraine from your lands

– We hear a lot of Latin American music, which gives us a song that feels like home. And we also walk a lot together with our diaspora, we play PlayStation.

– Patrick van Leeuwen has the greatest coaching knowledge and can reveal young players. Did you know anything about him before how to get to Krivbas?

“We got to know him during training.”. Vin overcame strong hostility: a representative of the old school, who loves discipline and a serious approach to work.

– Another teammate of yours, Egor Tverdokhlib, scored 4 goals. You are fighting one over another in the context of who wins the bombing races?

- Crazy, but Parako scored several goals. From Paraco there are also three bets: who scores in each match.

– You made your debut for the national team of Venezuela in the match against the USA. How far will your debut be at a distance, doctors, because the team still lost?

– Very happy about his debut for the national team. Mainly, the result of dissatisfaction (1:3), but all the same, I remember this all my life.

I am even more pleased with this, as I played my first match for the national team.

– For the same two reasons that you play in Ukraine, which opponent will be the most difficult for you?

– I would have said, what is Polissya?. Bo in matches with them we will fight a lot. Do a lot of work and achieve a positive result. I would also highlight the important match with Shakhtar in Lviv (1:1), because I also had a chance to report a lot of progress there.
