The coronavirus pandemic affected not only the completion dates of the European championships, but also put the clubs in a difficult situation with expiring contracts of football players. The English Premier League found a solution to this problem by allowing teams to sign short-term agreements, but the players themselves have the final say.

Six Newcastle football players were supposed to leave the club at the end of June this year. With Matthew Longstaff, Andy Carroll and Javi Manquillo, the contracts are coming to an end, just like the lease agreements with Denny Rose, Nabil Bentaleb and Valentino Lazaro.

However, according to the head coach of the “forty” Steve Bruce, all of the above players agreed to remain in the team until the end of this season in England.

“All our guys, including rented players and players with expiring contracts, agreed to stay and play the season until the end, which, obviously, cannot but rejoice,” Steve Bruce quotes Sky Sports.

It was previously reported that Newcastle offered Matt Longstaff an increase in annual salary by 23 times, but Udinese managed to make the 20-year-old Englishman a better offer.
