Goalkeeper Alexander Nyubel will no longer be the captain of Schalke after he signed an agreement with Bavaria, according to the official twitter of the German club.

The German goalkeeper has signed a five-year contract with the Munich club and will join him next summer when he receives free agent status.

“We decided by mutual agreement that Alex would no longer play the role of captain,” coaches head coach David Wagner said.

Schalke's new captain will be midfielder Omar Mascarel.

In the current season, the 23-year-old gate guard has held 17 fights in Schalke, of which 5 defended to zero.
