Battaglia sent a letter about the termination of the contract with Sporting, reports O Jogo.

Rodrigo claims that after careful reflection and consultations with the psychologist decided that he "can not continue working with Sporting and return to the club".

The Argentinean pointed out that the club can not ensure his personal safety, and the culprit of this calls Bruno De Carvalho.

"I have no choice but to terminate our contract, it's his own fault".

Battaglia became the eighth player who terminated the contract with Sporting. Earlier it was done by Rui Patriciu, Daniel Podensse, William Carvalho, Gelson Martins, Bruno Fernandes, Bas Dost and Ruben Ribeiro.

The reason for the departure of the players was a tense relationship with club president Bruno De Carvalho, which led to the attack of fans on the players at the club base.
