Everton midfielder Yannick Bolasi commented on his return to the field after a serious injury.

The 28-year-old midfielder spent an entire year outside the game during which he underwent two operations on the meniscus and the cruciate ligament of the knee and survived a long period of rehabilitation.

Despite all the difficulties, Yannik managed to recover and returned to the game in a duel 20 round of the Premier League against West Bromwich (0: 0), after a 61 minute.

According to the midfielder, he is incredibly glad to again take part in the match, because at some point he was afraid that he would have to retire.

"I suffered a lot of damage, because his character was such that it threatened my career," said Bolasi.

"Going this way and going back to the field is just incredible. I want to thank all the employees of the club, the medical staff and my personal physiotherapist, as well as my family, who stayed with me in the most difficult hour and supported me. I hope, now I will be even stronger ".

"At times I thought - maybe this is the end of the road.

I did not know whether I would return to the field or even to train. It was very difficult ".

"When I started to see a small light at the end of the tunnel - it was nice. Back on the field - just a blessing, "- summed up the player.

Bolasi moved to Everton from Crystal Palace in 2016 for 25 million pounds.
