Cologne approved Stefan Rutenbeck as the head coach of the first team, the official website of "goats".

45-year-old specialist signed a contract until June 30, 2018.

Rutenbeck, who since July 2017 was coach of Cologne U19, temporarily took over the duties of head coach in early December after the dismissal of Peter Shtoger.

Since then, Cologne has won one and lost four games, including against Freiburg, where they missed an advantage in three balls.

Also, Rutenbeck has an independent coaching experience in Greuther Furth and Aalen.

After 17 rounds Cologne takes the last place in the standings with six points scored.
