The Ukrainian football from the season 2019/2020 may begin to change.

The working group on reforming the system of professional and amateur football competitions in Ukraine submitted proposals to the FFU Executive Committee to optimize the structure of all-Ukrainian competitions - the Premier League, PFL and the creation of the National Football League (NFL).

Based on the results of the search for options for reforming championships under the auspices of UPL, PFL and NFL, the working group decided on the following pattern:.

To recommend ULP from the season 2019/2020 to increase the number of teams participating in the ULP competition from 12 to 16.

Beginning with the 2019/2020 season, only professional football clubs of the First League will have the right to participate in the competitions of the PFL of Ukraine FC, with a change in the number of teams participating in the competition from 18 to 16 and the creation of U-19 competitions.

Starting with the 2019/2020 season, start the National Football League Championship.

The composition of the tournament participants will be formed by professional football clubs of the Second League, which will lose the right to participate in the PFL competitions of the 2019/2020 season, and the teams of the participating clubs of the Aafu championship of the season 2018/2019.

The FFU Executive Committee took note of the proposals of the working group and delegated to it the authority to continue the process of reforming the competitions in domestic football.
