Rising star Schalke Weston McKenney signed a new five-year contract with the club.

Schalke extended the contract with his talented midfielder Weston McKenney until 2022, the official website of the "cobalt".

19-year-old McKenney was transferred to the first team Schalke only in May this year, but he was so impressed by the head coach Domenico Tedesco and his staff that the club decided to sign with him a new long-term contract.

"I did not have to think long over whether to accept this offer. I love this club, and I like everything here. I would be happy to stay in Schalke forever, "- said McKenney.

In the current season, McKenney spent five games in Schalke in all tournaments, three of which in the starting lineup.
