Yuri Bakalov accepted the offer of Rocks from Stryi and headed the junior team of the club performing in the second league of the championship of Ukraine - the club's press service reported.. The new coach was replaced by Anatoly Petrik, who worked with the team after being fired for family reasons by Oleg Lutkov.

Yuri Bakalov is known for his work as the head coach of the Kiev Arsenal, which he headed after the resignation of Vyacheslav Grozny in 2010. In the season-2013/2014 Bakalov headed Slavutych, and in 2016 he worked in Georgia with Zugdidi.

The last place of work of Bakalov was Steel, where from January 2017 he acted as assistant head coach.
