History. The history of Huddersfield Town dates back to 1908, when it was founded. In 11 years after the founding the club almost ceased to exist - due to lack of funds, the "Terriers" seriously considered merging with other Yorkshire people - Leeds, and to this day is the main rival of the team. But the help came Huddersfield residents, who bought shares of the club for 1 pound. And not in vain, because in 1920 the team reached the final of the FA Cup and went to the First Division - the elite English division that preceded the Premier League.

In the 1920s, the team experienced the most successful period in its history: the third place in the season of 1922-1923 preceded the three championships in a row (for the first time in the history of English football, later only 3 clubs will be able to repeat this achievement, but to beat) What were two more vice-championships in a row. In the season 1921/1922 "Terriers" won the first and only in their history Cup of England.

After the Second World War, the gradual decline of the club began. In the early 70's, the "Terriers" left the First Division and a long 45 years plying between 2-4 leagues of the championship of England, until finally the elite rose in this season.

The FA Cup, the Super Bowl and two championships brought Huddersfield none other than the legendary Herbert Chapman, the creator of the tactical scheme "double" and the first truly legendary coach of Arsenal. Herbert was not afraid of a new challenge (well, either he was tempted to work in the capital and a twofold increase in wages - to whom is the closest) and in the end of the 1924/1925 season changed the championship "terriers" to the outsider of the championship - London Arsenal. But this is, as they say, a completely different story ... Left his mark on the history of the club and the mentor that has become legendary for Liverpool - Bill Shankley. Trofeev did not manage to win the trophies with modest "terriers" then (1956-1959), but he signed for the team of Denis Lowe, who will become the best player in Europe in 1964 (although by that time Denis will already play for Manchester United).

Feature. For over a hundred years (since 1913), Huddersfield appears in blue and white colors. But at first the leadership of the team experimented with flowers with plenty, suggesting that it was "salmon pink" (# FF91A4), then a plain white one, then a completely blue version.

Trainer. Behind the shoulders of Wagner - the career of the missing special stars from the player's sky. David played for Eintracht F (already 1 match), Mainz, Schalke, Gutersloh 2000, Waldhof, Darmstadt, Weinheim and Pfungstadt, and also spent 8 fights for the US national team.

American coaching career so far more successful. He began his career in the second team of Dortmund Borussia, and in 2015 became the first non-British coach in the history of Huddersfield. And if the season 2015/2016 "Terriers" finished in 19 of the 24 places in the Championship, then in the next campaign they became the fifth and through the playoffs went to the Premier League!.

The way to the submarine. Huddersfield managed a very difficult achievement - the "Terriers" took the fifth place in the Championships, but the difference in the goals of wards David Wagner - "-2"! For comparison, in the sixth place Fulham - "28". But the Championship is not for you Emirates Cup, so here the goal difference did not matter. In the playoffs, Huddersfield first played 0-0, then 1: 1 and Sheffield Wednesday 4: 3, and then exchanged 1-0 with Reading and won the final on penalties - again with a score of 4: 3.

Summer. Entering the Premier League meant that the club would have to work hard in the transfer market to have a chance not to fly out of the elite in the first season. And the "Terriers" are still working hard in this direction - the team has already replenished 10 newcomers! Jonas Lessl, Casey Palmer, Danny Williams, Elias Kachunga, Zanka, Scott Malone, Laurent Deputiat, Tom Ince, Steve Mounier - all these people will fight for a place at the base.

Star:

It is not yet known whether the high-priced Steve Mounier and Laurent Depoutraire will play, but Aaron Mui should, in the coming season, set the tone in the attacks of "terriers". The Australian moved to Huddersfield before the start of last season from Man City and managed to play so cool that the fans recognized him as the best player of the team last season, and the management did not regret giving him the "blue moon" 8 million pounds, which at that time was a transfer record For Huddersfield.
