According to the Secretary General of the Swedish Football Association Hakan Sjostrand at a specially held press conference, the match of the ninth round of the championship of Sweden between the most popular teams in the country - Gothenburg (11th place in the current championship) and AIC (6th) - May 18 will not take place.

"We were approached by a player from one of the teams who said that he had been offered a considerable amount to ensure that he would ensure the success of his opponent by his actions," said Sjestrand.

- We decided to cancel the match and gave this information to the police. Those who are trying to destroy our football, I can only promise one thing: we will find you and you will bear the punishment ".

The player's name, team, for which he acts, and the amount of bribery is not reported. Last season, 43 players from the two main divisions of the Swedish championship were punished for trying to influence the results of matches in an unsportsmanlike manner.
