In fact, in Ukraine, not so often work coaches, whose football world is so rich and diverse. At one time, Oleg Dulub played not only in Belarus and Russia, but also in Poland, the Czech Republic, Latvia, China and Finland, where he began to study the system of the clubs' work from the inside, keep notes and prepare themselves for coaching activities. His coaching Pro-diploma, he received in Switzerland, choosing the most complex, but interesting and cognitive path. Dulub speaks fluent English, studies all possible specialized football literature in the original language. He trained in PSG, Stuttgart, Standard and is constantly looking for an opportunity to gain new knowledge. The current coach of the Carpathians studied details of the system of Lobanovsky's work and his laboratory, and one of the main goals in his work is the unification of the seemingly incompatible systems of Lobanovsky and Beskov. On the football theme, he has a reasoned opinion, it seems, in everything and always, and the availability of explanations of complex things is impressive. In general, there really was a talk with such an interlocutor, about which.
Start of work in the Carpathians, expectations-reality, influence in the club - Half a year in the Carpathians is a period of familiarity with the players in the fall during the championship, winter training, and already fully your team - in the spring. Are you satisfied with exactly how it looks now, or, perhaps, in the plans to do more in these six months with a little?.
- You probably distributed the stages correctly. And as for the question, then, if we take everything as a whole, then, naturally, I am not happy. And how can a coach be all happy? The first two months are the period of first of all acquaintance with the Carpathians, but also with the league, and with rivals in comparison with the Carpathians. The second stage is the preparatory period, when we needed strengthening, and in the end we need to clearly understand that we lost three key players. Kolya Matvienko and Alexander Gladkoy found the same and signed after the completion of fees. The period that goes with us now can be designated in different ways. I will call it, perhaps, a period of stabilization. And he is always complicated.
- Can I conclude from the heard that you are unhappy with the winter transfer campaign, because of what the Carpathians are experiencing difficulties more than you expected?.
- I can not say that I'm directly displeased with this particular. I have always been a supporter of what the coach must admit: the players who are in his position are the players he deserves. And they for him should always be the best.
- And yet: did the club do everything possible in the winter, or were there options for a more serious strengthening of the composition?.
- It's hard now to evaluate all this, but the fact that a lot of work has been done is for sure. During the transfer period, I had constant contact with club president Pyotr Petrovich Dyminsky, especially since he spent two gatherings in the winter with us. We met, talked with him daily, evaluated the players, took joint decisions on them. Probably, when there passes a little time, there always remains a feeling that it was possible to take another football player. But this ungrateful thing, the subjunctive mood. Because it is not known how the invited player would act in the team and how it would unfold. An important factor is the adaptation of the player to the new conditions and the team that is a living organism, rather than twenty tin soldiers. It happens that the player seems to be strong, but comes to the team, and the team rejects it.
- In the Carpathians, have you already encountered such a thing?.
- Yes. Only the names will not be to offend anyone. Moreover, I do not work so long here to make such hasty conclusions.
- At the expense of the stabilization period: how long will it last?.
- As in many people, it all depends on who you work with and what team you have in your location. In Belarus, with some collectives, it took me 2-3 months to finish the stabilization period. But in the case of the Carpathians, it should be borne in mind that in the Belarusian league, in comparison with the Ukrainian one, a very large preparatory period. It lasts there almost 3 months, and during this time you have time to learn everything you need about the players and prepare everyone for this period of time. In Lviv, we started work on January 12, and on April 12, when we had already played 7 matches in the championship, in Belarus we would have just finished the fees. For me, all this is somewhat unusual, because I work for the first time outside Belarus. Now I really want to strengthen the game team. This can be done in two ways: by replacing players with others, or through a training process. In my opinion, if you take the composition of the Carpathians, then he is still very young for the Premier League. When preparing for matches, I always compare experienced players, the level of individual skill of the players of the opponent and our players, group tactics of the team and so on. And if we take into account only the first six of the championship, then the teams with which we played relatively recently: Steel, Olympique, Alexandria - they are all more experienced. More specific example: in the composition for the match with Vorskla we had five players born in 1995 and younger, and in Poltava such players - only two. Naturally, we need to look for a balance in the composition, so that the intermediate age of players was around 25-26 years.
The second point: now we have injured two key performers: Pasha Ksens and Oleg Golodyuk. To be honest, I'm really looking forward to their return. While it is a bit too much trouble for stabilization to end.
- Can you say with confidence that the current Carpathians are stronger than the Carpathians, a pattern of the autumn of 2016, when you just headed the team?.
- I do not think this will be a correct comparison. Because those Carpathians are constant attempts to redraw something, and two weeks of pause in the championship were already a great help for us. Now the Carpathians are completely different, with other players. After all, we not only lost, but also invited four players who uniquely strengthened us. It's clear that if we kept Blanco Leshchuk, Kravets and Kostevich, plus - added a subsequent strengthening, we would be stronger now. But I do not like to compare. For example, I am often asked about who is stronger: Blanco Leshchuk or Gladky. But, listen, they are absolutely different players.
"At the training camp everything was built on the work with the balls, but at the same time the intensity was the highest. So sometimes the players even said: "it's better to run crosses" - Except for the results and quality of the game, the personal growth of the players is one of the criteria that determines the quality of the coach's work. Whose individual growth in skill from wards can you single out?.
- It was always difficult for me to evaluate my work. I think this should be done by people from outside. But I, of course, can not but rejoice in the progress, first of all, Kolya Matviyenko, who deserved the challenge to the national team, and immediately the place in the starting line-up in the match against the Croats. I can not say that we prepared it. This is probably the fruit of Shakhtar's work, to a greater extent. But it was from us that he grew up as a player, to which I am very happy. In parallel, watching Vasily Kravets, I also want very much that he has everything in Spain, and that he played there. When I start working with football players, those with whom I have contact, become for me practically family members.
- You start watching the match Croatia-Ukraine, and see Matvienko in the start. Your reaction?.
- To be honest, I was upset.
-? !!.
- Honestly, upset. Because until recently I hoped that Kolya would return and play against us against Olympique, because it was a rescheduled match, and he was appointed on March 26 - less than two days after the match of the national teams. But it was a moment. Further worried for him, both for himself. It was evident that at first he was nervous, because he had to play against the football players, whom he had only seen on TV, plus - the pressure of the public who is sick against you. And then, with what honor Matvienko emerged from this situation, can not but rejoice.
- Do you belong to the category of trainers, which are concentrated primarily on working with players, or to the category of managers, on whose shoulders - the organization of various processes in the club, like the transfer activity? How much is everything subordinated to you in the Carpathians and how great is your influence in the club on the most diverse processes?.
- I would not say that I have 100% influence on the club structure, on the transfer policy or on the adoption of club decisions. Now my main task is to prepare the team for the passage of the spring part of the championship in such a way that we keep a residence permit in the Premier League. In the summer, if everything goes well, you can take the next step.
- Before that, did you work with the players you gave the club?.
- When I came to the club in the autumn, the period of applications was already over. In the winter, on my initiative, Dityatiev, Borovik, Filimonov. After the fees, thanks to the efforts of Pyotr Petrovich Dymynsky, we managed to rent Gladkiy and Matviyenko in order to close the problematic positions.
- How harmonious is everything in your work at the moment? Are your expectations justified, or are there any difficulties that you did not expect in the Carpathians or the championship as a whole?.
- The first thing I want to say: I'm interested in this championship. It's new for me, and at first it was important for me to understand the level and how we should play using those people who are in the team. You can invite players to a specific game system, or rebuild the system for specific artists that you have. We went the second way, because the first one assumed big financial costs. In the end, we were forced to switch to a game with three central defenders. And when this difficult decision was made, I, first of all, wanted to give progress to local pupils. Relatively speaking, under the scheme with four defenders, we understood that the same Lobay, a local player, is in competition with Nesterov and Dityatyev, and the transition to the new system gave us the opportunity to use all three central defenders, and thus the pupil of the club received the necessary gaming practice. The main difficulty - this is the very transition in the autumn to a new game system, because in the team almost no one has played before this scheme. But now, I think we are already successfully using this formation.
- What did the football players and staff of the club wonder about most with your coming to the club? Are there any innovations that you brought with you?.
- Perhaps, it is better to ask the players about this. But I think that in general it was possible to surprise that preseason, which we offered to the players. For two dues everything was built exclusively on the work with the balls, but the intensity was high, especially during the first harvest, when adaptation for the development of the motor apparatus. Sometimes footballers - I do not know, for fun or not - they even said: "it's better, probably, running crosses".
Coaching philosophy, education, approach to work - Being a football player, you played in Poland, Czech Republic, Latvia, China, Finland. For the coach it is always useful in the end - to look at the years of playing career organization of the clubs from within in different countries?.
- Of course. Firstly, I saw different styles of management teams and players. The first place was the territory of the Soviet Union, where coaches appeared who tried to innovate. If you take the game, it was most interesting to work with Sergei Zborovsky. All his work was based on the methodology of Valery Lobanovsky. And this is a good functional readiness from a scientific point of view, and large, but competent loads. The second moment is when I moved to Latvia at the age of 30. There all the work was completely built through the ball, as it was preached by Konstantin Beskov. And I watched the colossal progress of the team, which was changing just before our eyes, although before that it was an absolutely average Latvian team, professing power football. The game was completely rebuilt in just two months. And to observe this process from within is priceless in terms of the experience gained. Even then I began to keep notes and wrote down all the most important. In 6-8 years after Latvia, I began to learn on what scientific and methodical support it was built. And only then did I learn that from this point of view everything was perfectly right. Therefore there was a result. Since that moment, somewhere from the beginning of the two thousandths, I had the idea of ??combining two techniques, Lobanovsky and Beskov, into one. Although, at a time when I was still a football player, absolutely everyone said that it was impossible. The third important stage of the gaming career - when I finished the game in Scandinavia. There I appreciated a completely different approach - very intensive, but short training, which I did not see at that time before. I'll remember for all my life that although I played late at a respectable age, but when I went to the game, I felt a lot of strength in myself, which was never even in my youth when I was playing in the territory of the USSR - there I came out as a squeezed lemon. When I began to train, I thought that outside the USSR work probably was more scientifically based. Later, when I began to study soccer literature, I came across a book about the physical training in football of the Italian author-coach. I open it on the first page and read: "We took the entire fundamental training system from the specialists of the Soviet Union, after which they deepened, improved and began to apply".
- As far as I know, your coaching Pro-diploma you received on the results of coaching courses in Switzerland, and not somewhere in the post-Soviet space. Was it something special in your life, or did not see anything extraordinary and heard there?.
- I took an exam very respected for me people, like Howard Wilkinson - the former coach of Leeds United and the England team, who headed the Association of Football Coaches of this country. At the same time, I had to pass the exam in English: first I made a presentation, then I conducted training and defended myself after. It was in 2011. And I think that I was very lucky, because the teachers were all from Europe, and the protection of the Pro-diploma in Switzerland is the top. Because the knowledge that I received for three days of stay in Switzerland, where we read lectures and so on, were simply enormous. We were taught literally everything: how to behave with the media, what to look for, how to behave with colleagues and football players. And this is exactly what is taught very little in our countries.
- At what stage did you learn English, especially since I understand that you know it in an ideal way?.
- In school, by the way, I learned French. And at the age of 32 he got to China, where he played for the team, which was then called Dalian Wanda. And before me stood the dilemma, which language to teach: Chinese or English. And at that moment I was lucky: the Swedes were in the team, and the girlfriend of one of them began to teach me, and somewhere at that time I had already started to talk more or less tolerably in English. When the process was already started, then it was just maintaining the received level of knowledge, plus, taught new words and so on. At the next stage I already read specialized literature in English. This is very important for me, considering that all the innovations in the training process are described mainly in the English-language literature, which is not translated into Russian. I noticed that translations in Russian of some books I read were published in our countries in 5, 7, and even 10 years after the publication of the original. I'm trying to keep track of all the new items, I know which stores to look for and buy.
- The last book that made an impression on you.
- From the latter I really liked the "Coaching philosophy of Marcelo Bielsa". Probably, I will re-read even it once again. I recommend. I can also highlight a book about the tactical system of the game 3-3-1-3. It's not new, but I read it recently. Now something similar is used by both Barcelona and Chelsea. If we take books about the scheme with three central defenders, which we use in the Carpathians, I can still highlight a book about the tactical analysis of the game of Juventus in the attack and defense. I needed literature to get some knowledge about this scheme, and it was these books that allowed me to get fundamental knowledge in this area.
"The task of any coach is not to train and not teach football players to play football. The coach's task is to teach them how to win matches. "It is known that you also often practice in European clubs, including at PSG in 2010, in Stuttgart, Standard. Whence such hunger for new information, if knowledge is already surely enough to work effectively at the current level, that you proved in the same Krumkachi (Dulub led the team from the relegation zone of the First League, and then brought it to the Major Leagues, and in the first season it Became the opening team from the top of the standings. - Prim. Auto. )?.
- If you think that you know everything - everything, it's a stop in growth and profession. I once thought so, being a football player. It was an annual stagnation. I just have a craving for knowledge, it has always been interesting to learn something new. While still working in Belarus, he traveled all our teams, including teams, plus, teams that come to play in our country and guests of Belarusian clubs in European cups - attended all their trainings, learned a lot of new things for themselves, and much of what was seen influenced my coaching Future work.
- As some game moments and nuances of training of players, seen, for example, in PSG, correctly apply then in the same Carpathians? The level of players is completely different.
- The main thing is to understand the pattern of construction work. That is, you look, relatively speaking, a weekly microcycle: you estimate it as a whole, you see in what modes the team works, what work is directed at and so on. You clearly understand, over the development of what physical quality, over what tactical nuances within the confessed gaming model is working. Basically, European clubs give a look at their work exactly a week. And after this microcycle you either understand the pattern, why the work was built in this way, or do not understand, and you can hardly benefit from what you saw. If you understand and understand what means were used and for what purpose, you can apply it to your team. Yes, players are weaker, but the goal of any tactical innovations is to level the chances. Relatively speaking, let's take Real Madrid, a team with a fantastic selection of players, the best players in the world. That's how to play with them? Can I play with them at all? Of course you can! Even if your players are lower in skill (but, understandably, at least approximately comparable in average), but which are well organized tactically.
- What is needed for this?.
- For players to believe you, as to themselves. When the players understand that the coach can lead them to victory, explain how to achieve this. Because the task of any coach is not to train and not teach football players to play football. The coach's task is to teach them how to win matches. You can build this approach and understanding.
- Each your internship in European clubs is always a "wow", or have there been cases that their coaches could also be sent to us to learn?.
- You see, there is not one single footpath to Everest, their thousands. And therefore hard to assess, because every coach has his own technique and philosophy. If you go to the top - then you have chosen the right path. But to me, in fact, always and in all clubs was very interesting - if only because you can understand at what level of development you are, as a coach, because it is possible to evaluate yourself in comparison with other.
If we talk about "learning", then I have always been a fan of the Dynamo Kyiv. In Belarus, I lived on the border with Ukraine in the Gomel region, and before Kiev was in the area of ??250 kilometers. And the first powerful impression on children's eyes - Dinamo 1975: speed, excitement, spectacle. And when I, already a coach, began to study Lobanovsky's legacy about modeling the training process, searched for all possible literature, Valery Vasilievich's statements, all his interviews, I realized that there is such a treasure here ... I think that what Ukraine has in terms of the possibility for Research work Lobanovsky - it's fantastic. Yes, 90% of the world's trainers would be honored to come and learn more. But! Unfortunately, there is no necessary literature. I had a case in 2009. A coaching symposium was held in Minsk, where Guus Hiddink and the physical training coach from his staff Raymond Verheijen. After the lecture, I went up to Verheien, agreed with him about the meeting, which eventually took place - I was extremely interested to learn more about the model of physical training of players that he used. And when I began to tell him about the intermediate regimes of Dynamo Kiev Dynasty of Lobanovsky (A, B, C, D) - he was sincerely surprised. He says: "Yes, I heard something similar, but I do not know in detail what it is". And there is really no necessary literature for this.. At the same time, after studying the work done by Valery Vasilievich's laboratory, I can confidently conclude that all this has overtaken the years 50 for his time. It's my personal opinion.
- By the way, if you follow the coaching career of Leonid Kuchuk, you get the impression that he gets more pleasure from work when he starts with a team not of the highest level, in which there are many young people who can be trained. And in general, not all coaches are eager to work with the stars and in the top clubs.
- You know, in fact it is very easy to achieve and see qualitative progress when working with young players or players of the same level, but older. Because the quality information that you give them during the training process, immediately gives a tremendous leap. And the higher the players rise in their level, the heavier this jerk is to reach - you can only change the details. But when working with the stars, the main thing is to find a common language, to build the right relationships in the team, including between these top players themselves.
Carpathians now and in the near future - At the moment the game of the Carpathians is somewhat unstable. How do you see the development of the team in the near future? What should I do first?.
- In my understanding, first of all, it is necessary to solve the problem of preserving the registration in the Premier League. Because this external psychologically difficult situation has serious pressure on the players. It's one thing when you already have a certain set of points and you can play more liberated, the other - when you constantly have to win. With a similar face top teams, which are always waiting for the result, and in the same situation are now the Carpathians: you have to win to break away from the relegation zone, the eleventh team. And under the current circumstances, I do not have the opportunity to build, for example, a three-month strategy for passing the championship, as it was in my previous clubs. Now we are forced to play from match to match. It's hard psychologically for the players. On the other hand, in such conditions players become more mature in this context. But it is with this psychological pressure that I associate the instability of team play.
- The struggle for survival is still not formally over. Do you have any confidence that the team will keep a residence permit in the ULL?.
- There are six more rounds, and as long as there is not enough separation from the opponent to say confidently that we will not take off. Moreover, in my coaching practice there were cases when teams in this segment of the season played out and a 10-point gap.
- Carpathians now have to aim solely at the result. And would you like to have a tournament position now, like at Stali or Vorskla, and, consequently, the opportunity to experiment more and play for the next season?.
- Of course, I would like. It would be a kind of preseason for us, during which we could change something, watch, check on the game model and for individual players. And it would be completely different in our game in the attack. Completely differently.
- Do you think the current composition is such that without a serious increase in the summer with him you can solve the problem of getting into the top six and fight for the European Cup next season?.
- Recently I read Alex Ferguson's book "Leadership Lessons". It said that even in the minutes when MJ became the champion, Ferguson already knew that during the transfer period will need to change 3-4 players. And this is the top team with the appropriate selection of players. That is, the inflow of fresh blood should be constantly, so that your players are in a state of competition and progressed due to this. As soon as the player stops growing, you realize that he can not give anything to the team, and he needs to look for a substitute. If in this living command organism the stagnation of its individual elements begins - everything begins to die.
"I really want to return the audience to the stands. And this can only be done through an attacking game, which unfortunately we can not give viewers now in the current tournament situation. "- In the last eight matches, the Carpathians won four times and four games played a draw - not a single defeat. How do you think, today in the top six your team would look not just worthy, but competitive?.
- You know, like there are these eight matches without defeats, really. But I would not evaluate this period, like "wow, how cool, eight games are not losing". I say this from the position that we won only four times. If we won seven fights, and one played a draw - yes, probably, I would say that we added. On the other hand, of course, we should pay attention to the fact that this is for three draws out of four - they were won in away matches where in the autumn we did not take points at all. And only the fourth draw is the result of a home meeting with the Dnieper with poor quality of the Carpathian game, especially in the second half, which I remained extremely unhappy. To my players, I even said that for me this match was like a lost one, because we held in front of our spectators who want us to play an attack. Therefore, players must play every match as the last one. Living an individual life, 90 minutes in length - it's expensive.
Quotation from your interview: "When I arrived in Lviv for talks in July, Petr Petrovich first offered to familiarize himself with the club infrastructure, attend classes not only of the basic staff, but also the nearest reserve, as well as the students of the Karpaty sports school and the football academy in the physical training school. I analyzed in detail two days in advance and prepared for Dymynsky a detailed analytical note on the ways of improving the work. Probably, he liked my analysis, and they offered me a contract for five years ". What exactly was in the note? How did you see the improvement of the club's work and in what directions?.
- It is necessary to create a unified training system for the work of especially young men and their connections to the first team. Because when you can not painlessly transfer a talented player from a double to the main team, it creates a gap between the two teams of the club structure. Therefore, teams should have a smooth structure of the training system, starting from about U-17 and up, right up to the first team. The second is a unified game model for three teams from U-17 to U-21. I'm not talking about the first team in this context, because it is more often forced to change the system of the game, depending on the opponents, because some of them are better staffed and have more artisan players. And the third is the psychological component. I really like how the work in Western clubs is built, and that's what I mean: when a child comes to the academy at the age of 9-10, he should enjoy football, and no more. Then he is taught how to train properly, then he is right to play, to win individual matches and, of course, when a football player becomes U-21, he should already be able to win tournaments. And only then it will be possible to talk about the fact that the club has a unified system of training.
- Do you have a feeling that the Carpathians are now in the initial stage of creating something truly global and powerful? Are there prerequisites for this and the reasons for this?.
- There are prerequisites, because the Carpathians have two very good schools, and there are strong guys in both U-21, U-19, and U-17. Now it's only time that they grow up a bit and join the first team. I think, now the Carpathians are formed and are really in the initial stage of creating a strong club.
- How do you want to see the Carpathians in six months, a year, two? For what should the team fight, how to live and how to play?.
- I, like a coach, like the game speedy, to attack, with pressure on the opponent's half of the field. I want to see a team that pleases the fans with their bright game.
I like when the attacking game is built on this passion of football players, which is also transmitted to the fans. I saw the Arena-Lviv and half-empty stands during our matches, and simultaneously watched the home matches of 2010-2011 with the full stadium Ukraine. I'd like to return the audience to the stands. And this can be done only through an attacking game, which, unfortunately, we can not give viewers now in the current tournament situation.
