Former WBO interim heavyweight champion Joseph Parker believes the stoppage of his fight with Fabio Wardley was unjustified, resulting in him losing by TKO in the 11th round.
The New Zealand boxer noted that he was determined to continue and was going to become more active in the final part of the fight, as he believed that his opponent was already losing strength.
" There was not the slightest moment when I wanted the fight to be stopped. I was planning on going for a strong ending because I think Wardley was wearing himself out..
I was in the lead on the judges' notes.
In the 11th round, when Wardley threw a series of punches, he caught me with some, but I avoided them, moved and dodged. When he threw the last three punches, I knew what was happening. When the referee intervened, I said I was fine,” Parker shared on Ariel Helwani’s YouTube channel.
Let us recall that earlier Alexander Krasyuk suggested that Joseph Parker could return to the top of world boxing.
