The Uzbekistan men's hockey team has set a phenomenal performance record in the seventh strongest division of the World Championship, which is being held these days in China. The team managed to hit the opponents' goal 88 times in four matches, breaking the Kyrgyzstan record.
The Uzbeks began the tournament in Division IIIB with a powerful victory over the representatives of Mongolia, who were swept off the court with a score of 26:1. The next victim of the record holders were the Philippines, who responded to the opponents' 28 goals with three accurate shots.
In the third round, Uzbekistan destroyed the North Korean team - 20:3. Luxembourg had the strongest defense, which, although it lost to a clean sheet, conceded “only” 14 goals.
Now, in order to move up in class, the Uzbeks only need to draw with Hong Kong, which has lost any chance of reaching division IIIA.
The top scorer of the tournament is Uzbek forward Vadim Kravchenko, who scored 14 goals and made 15 assists. His team surpassed the Kyrgyz record at the 2023 World Cup by 8 goals.
