Ukrainian boxer Alexander Khizhnyak, who is the Olympic champion of Paris 2024, had his first fight in the professional ring.

The 30-year-old boxer won by knockout in the first round over Colombian Wilmer Baron (8-14-1, 6 KOs). The Ukrainian's opponent was knocked down twice, and after the second he could no longer get up.

The boxing evening took place on March 21 in the village of Lesniki, Kyiv region, at the Equides Club. The show was organized by Alexander Usik’s promotion company Usyk 17 Promotions.

It is worth noting that the guest of the event was not only Usik himself, but also his former rival Anthony Joshua from Great Britain.

Let us remind you that at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, Alexander Khizhnyak reached the final of the weight category up to 80 kg, where he won by decision over Nurbek Oralbay from Kazakhstan. At the 2020 Games in Tokyo, the Ukrainian became a silver medalist.
