Finland, Estonia and Latvia announced a boycott of the opening ceremony of the 2026 Paralympics due to the admission of Russians under their flag.

The National Paralympic Committees of Finland, Estonia and Latvia joined the boycott by Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Poland, as well as EU Sports Commissioner Glenn Micallef and a number of European officials from different countries.

Official representatives of these countries will not attend the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as official receptions organized by the International Paralympic Committee.

Let us remind you that Ukrainian officials will completely boycott the 2026 Paralympic Games, while athletes will compete, but will not attend the opening ceremony.

The International Paralympic Committee allowed six Paralympians from the Russian Federation to participate in individual competitions without neutral status and with national symbols, and also provided four quotas for Belarus.

The 2026 Winter Paralympics will take place from 6 to 15 March in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
