The World Boxing Association (WBA) has appointed promotional bidding for the fight between WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs).
Promotion auction will be held May 25 in Houston, Texas.
The fight between Usyk and Dubois was scheduled for December 12, but the WBA gave the Ukrainian time to negotiate a unification fight with WBC belt holder Tyson Fury.
After the breakdown of negotiations, the Ukrainian team decided to box with Dubois.
The deadline for negotiations expired on May 2, so the organization sent the fight to promotional bidding..
Recall that Dubois owns the WBA World belt and is the mandatory contender for the world title according to the organization owned by Usyk. Promotional bidding is scheduled when the teams of boxers cannot independently agree on all the details of the organization of the fight.
