Independent Tribunal of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) resumed membership of Russia and Belarus in the organization. This was reported in a statement on the official website of the IPC.. Last November, the International Paralympic Committee suspended the membership of Russia and Belarus, but now the IPC Tribunal has granted the appeal of the aggressor countries. At the same time, the IPC decision states that the decision to renew the membership of the National Paralympic Committees of Russia and Belarus does not affect the return of athletes from these countries.. They remain suspended from international competition. President of the International Paralympic Committee Andrew Parsons commented on the decision of the tribunal. He stated that he respects him, but does not agree.

" We believe that our actions - to convene an urgent General Assembly in Berlin and give permission to each member to present their views on important issues - have fulfilled their obligations under the rules. An independent appeals tribunal decided otherwise. We obviously respect this decision, but we do not agree with it.. We will revisit these issues during the General Assembly later this year, following the directions of the Appeals Tribunal, presenting additional evidence we have since received, and will give our members the opportunity to decide on these important issues,"
