Ukrainian swimmer Mikhail Romanchuk won his third license for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. At the Stockholm Open competitions in the capital of Sweden, a 26-year-old Ukrainian completed the Olympic standard in the 800-meter freestyle swim. To obtain an Olympic license, it was necessary to cover the distance in 7:51.65 minutes. Romanchuk completed this task in 7:47.12 minutes, surpassing the required result by 4.53 seconds.. It should be noted that Mikhail took the second place in the final swim.. He was overtaken by the Irishman Daniel Wiffen, who, with a time of 7:44.45 minutes, also qualified for the 2024 Olympics. Earlier, Romanchuk won licenses for the 2024 Olympics in the 400 and 1500 m freestyle.. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Mikhail won bronze in the 800m freestyle and silver in the 1500m. But at a distance of 400 meters, he will perform at the Olympics for the first time.
