Fans of cross-country skiing saw a dramatic denouement at the second stage of the Tour de Ski.. Russian skiers Evgeny Belov and Alexey Chervotkin were left without a podium after a curious collision just before the finish.

Another of their compatriots Ivan Yakimushkin was forced to go around the blockage in another section to avoid a fall. As a result, the Swiss Dario Cologna took advantage of the situation, who won the silver award..

After the incident, Chervotkin and Belov did not get on the podium. They staged a showdown right on the track, arguing who was the culprit in their fiasco. The judges found Chervotkin guilty in the collision, his result was annulled.
