Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina won the last group stage match at the WTA Final in Chinese Shenzhen.

In two sets, Svitolina figured out with the American Sophia Kenin - 7: 5, 7: 6 (12:10). The first racket of Ukraine managed to reach the semifinals from the first place thanks to two starting victories - over Karolina Plishkova and Simona Halep, and the third match did not have tournament significance for Svitolina.

Note that the American had her only match in these competitions. She replaced the Canadian tennis player Bianca Andreescu, who was supposed to play with Svitolina, but withdrew from the Final tournament due to a knee injury.

In the semifinals, the opponent of the Ukrainian will be the representative of Switzerland Belinda Bencic, who now occupies the seventh line in the WTA ranking.

In the other semifinal, the first racket of the planet will definitely play - Ashley Barty (Australia). Confront her will be the winner of the pair Simone Halep / Karolina Plishkova.

Semifinal matches will be held on Saturday, November 2. The final match is scheduled for Sunday, November 3.
