Dynamo Kyiv became the last quarter-finalist of the Ukrainian Football Cup 2019/20.

In the 1/8 final match, the wards of Alexey Mikhaylichenko in Kiev defeated their eternal rival, Donetsk Shakhtar, with a score of 2: 1.

Kievites led the meeting in the 22nd minute thanks to a goal by captain Sergey Sidorchuk. The midfielder of the “white-blue” kicked the ball under the Pitmen's right goal post with an incredibly beautiful shot - Andrey Pyatov didn’t even move.

Traditionally for the Ukrainian Classic, in the match there were many joints and tough male wrestling. At the 32nd minute, blood was spilled - Kiev defender Denis Popov dismissed Ismaily. The Brazilian was lying on the lawn for a long time and needed the help of doctors, but the chief referee decided not to punish Dynamo defender for this act.

At the 76th minute, Sidorchuk and Stepanenko collided, Taras received a cut, but courageously continued the match with a bandaged head.

Three minutes before the end of regular time Stepanenko missed a great opportunity to equalize. The midfielder won the second floor against Shabanov and struck his head - Bushan on the goal line securely locked the ball in his hands.

However, this was far from the end.. At the 89th minute, Dynamo midfielder Vladimir Shepelev tore off Tyson's dangerous pass with a blow from behind in the legs. The referee considered that this foul pulled on a red card and removed Dynamo from the field.

Donetsk club took advantage of the numerical majority and in compensated time transferred the match to overtime. Stapanenko became the Pitmen's savior - from outside the penalty area Taras sent the ball into the left corner. Bushan reacted to this shot, but could not repulse it properly..

At the beginning of the first extra-time, the referee equalized the line-ups - Stepanenko grabbed Verbich with his hand and got a second “yellow card”.

Playing ten on ten, rivals exchanged dangerous attacks. And yet, the victory went to Dynamo. In the fifth minute of the second overtime, Denis Popov, after de Pena's excellent pitch from the corner, shot Pyatov with a powerful head-hit from close range..

In addition to Dynamo, the quarter-finals of the Cup of Ukraine came: Vorskla, Ingulets, Minai, Desna, Mariupol, Alliance, Alexandria.

The draw for the quarter-final stage will take place in December, and the matches in March 2020.
