British scientists have found out exactly how sound affects the well-being of a training person.

Scientists from the University of Brunel (London) conducted an experiment involving 24 people. After finding the "ideal" pace of walking, the volunteers walked 400 meters along the path, alternately listening to the famous soundtrack of Farrell Williams called "Happy", a podcast with TED Talks and nothing to break the silence. To construct a graph of the brain activity of the subjects, the researchers used the portable electroencephalogram (EEG) method with interference protection technology. In addition, psychological tests and scales were used to analyze the inner self-awareness of walkers.

As a result, it turned out that music causes a decrease in attention and loss of focus on exercises, but it increases the level of pleasure from the process. Dealing with music was 28% more pleasant than in silence, and 13% - than with audio recording. Moreover, the podcast, in contrast to the musical work, practically did not affect the level of fatigue, nor affective reactions, nor the mood of the participants.

But, at least, with him they felt much better than in the "silent" mode.

Scientists associated such reactions of our brain primarily with an increase in the frequency of beta-waves (beta waves) in the frontal and frontal-central regions of the cerebral cortex. "With the help of EEG technology, we put a person in the conditions of real life and unobstructed to find out what is going on in his head,"? says one of the authors of the study, the physiologist Marcelo Bigliasi.
