The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) withdrew the temporary suspension from two players of the national team of Ukraine Eduard Zakharchenko and Vladimir Varivody.
According to the official website of the organization, hockey players were acquitted because of the lack of necessary evidence about the allegedly contractual duel against the South Korean team, which took place in April 2017 in Kiev in the framework of the World Cup in Division 1A.
However, it is noted that IIHF has not yet made a final decision on this issue.
The organization can resume the case at any time if there is new evidence.
Thus, Zakharchenko and Varivoda can continue their career in hockey. However, they can not now be sent to any of the teams, because the transfer window has already closed. Nevertheless, both players can play for the national team of Ukraine at the World Championships in Division 1B, which will be held in April 2018.
Recall that the game between Ukraine and South Korea ended in victory for the Koreans in a shootout with a score of 2: 1.
