IOC disqualified 6 hockey players and canceled the result of the Russian national team at the Olympic Games in Sochi-2014.
This is reported in a press release of the IOC.
"The Russian team is disqualified in the women's ice hockey tournament, and the International Ice Hockey Federation has been asked to make appropriate changes to the results of the competition," reads the press release.
In addition, the IOC suspended the hockey players Inna Dubanok, Ekaterina Lebedeva, Ekaterina Pashkevich, Anna Shibanova, Ekaterina Smolentseva and Galina Skiba for participation in the Olympics.
Note that the women's national team of Russia in Sochi reached the quarterfinals.
Recall, the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee at the meeting decided not to allow the Russian team to the Winter Olympic Games, which will be held in 2018.
The reason for Russia's removal from OI-2018 is the massive use of doping by athletes. Earlier it was reported that the IOC had already seized 11 medals from Russians. Because of this, in the team event they dropped from 1 to 3 places.
