Our main task today is not to remember all the grievances and conflicts that divide Poles and Ukrainians, but to support those Poles who sincerely advocate Polish-Ukrainian mutual understanding. And remember that there are many, many such people. But there are also a lot of those who hate Ukrainians and want to parasitize on the Polish-Ukrainian misunderstanding - and a lot will depend on us in the confrontation between these two Polands.
The following is the text in the original language. I want to remind you that among our spivvitch citizens there were once people who not only stood for the subordination of Ukraine to Russia, but were ready to vote for politicians who were engaged in dismantling. Those who did not respect the Ukrainian language, culture, history - and tried everything possible so that their position in our country would prevail. And we haven’t seen anywhere today - we just want to see how many of them there are. So, these people robbed presidents and deputies, outmaneuvered them in elections. And they can be transferred further away, in wartime Ukraine.
But we always wanted us not to be alienated from them, so that people would like to see another Ukraine - democratic, European and, most importantly, Ukrainian. Why do we want to have only those who don’t respect us in Poland, and not those who want to be with us
The future of Ukraine and the future of Poland must depend on whether the Ukrainians will build their future land in Europe - tolerant, democratic, power-oriented - to overcome at once.
It may be that we will unite and resist those who want to separate the Polish and Ukrainian peoples for hundreds of years.
Tim, who's in Moscow.
