In Ukraine, during martial law and general mobilization, the issue of reserving military personnel remains one of the most pressing. In particular, many citizens are interested in whether it is necessary to undergo a military medical examination before making a reservation. Lawyers explain that in most cases there is no such requirement. Lawyer Vladislav Deriy reports this.

According to the expert, now the vast majority of procedures for booking military personnel takes place in electronic format through the Diya portal. This greatly simplifies the process and minimizes the need for personal interaction with territorial picking centers.

In accordance with current legislation, the transfer of a person liable for military service to special military registration for the period of deferment is carried out automatically - within 72 hours from the moment the corresponding list is formed in the state register. To do this, several conditions must be met. In particular, the person must be registered with the military, officially work in a government agency or at a critical enterprise, clarify his personal data in accordance with the law, and also not be wanted.

The lawyer notes that if a person liable for military service meets these criteria, he should be booked regardless of whether he passed a military medical commission. That is, there is no requirement yet to pass the IHC before booking.. The expert also noted that if there is an existing deferment, for example due to training, there is no need to contact the territorial acquisition center “just in case” to update data or pass a commission.

The booking algorithm looks like this: after the grounds for deferment are completed (for example, training), the information disappears from the register, after which the employer submits data for booking through “Diya”. Within 72 hours, the person liable for military service receives a notification about the reservation..

Thus, as the lawyer concludes, in most cases, citizens are not required to undergo an IVC or additionally visit the TCC before the booking procedure, if all data has already been entered into state registers and complies with legal requirements. Let us remind you that the general rules of conscription remain unchanged: every citizen of Ukraine liable for military service who meets current health requirements and does not have a deferment from mobilization can be mobilized.
