In Poltava they said goodbye to two Ukrainian soldiers, Alexander Bredun and Alexander Koval. The defenders gave the most precious thing - their lives for the bright future of Ukraine.

This was announced by the head of the civil-military cooperation department of the Poltava OMTCC and joint venture, Andrey Lysenko, reports Suspilne.. The memorial service was held on March 11 in the Holy Assumption Cathedral.

Alexander Bredun was born on March 11, 1979 in Poltava. In 1995 he graduated from school No. 5, and in 1998 – Poltava Vocational School, where he received a degree in car mechanics.

On September 30, 2025, he was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a senior flamethrower gunner of an airborne assault squad in one of the military units.

The defender took his last battle on February 6, 2026 in the Dnepropetrovsk region during a shooting battle.

Alexander Koval was born on August 28, 1971 in the village of Chutovo in the Poltava region. Lived in the village of Zelenkovka, Poltava region.



He served as a soldier as deputy commander of a combat vehicle - gunner-operator of the 1st mechanized squad of the 1st mechanized platoon of the 3rd mechanized company of the 2nd mechanized battalion..

The warrior died on September 4, 2024 while performing a combat mission near the village of Terny, Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region.

Relatives, friends and caring people came to accompany the defenders on their final earthly journey..

Let us remind you that 27-year-old defender from the Lviv region Ivan Alekseev died in the Kherson region. He fought his last fight in the Kherson region at the end of February.
