Already from the first months of 2026, some Ukrainians who currently have reservations or deferments from mobilization may lose them. This is due to updated requirements for enterprises classified as critical.
Lawyer Roman Simutin reported this on Facebook. He noted that the Ministry of Economy grants critical enterprise status for up to 12 months, so companies that received it last year will have to re-confirm it in January-February 2026. To maintain their status, enterprises must have no tax debts or debts to pay the unified social tax during the year. Also, from January 1, 2026, they must increase employee wages to at least 21,617.5 UAH (taking into account the increase in the minimum wage), and also confirm stable tax and foreign exchange revenues or real significance for the industry.
According to the lawyer, if the company does not prepare in advance, it may lose its status as critical after the New Year. This applies primarily to those who received a reservation based on a “subjective assessment of importance”.
Before January, all employees of such enterprises must undergo a military medical commission (MMC). If a company loses its status, its employees will automatically lose their reservation and deferment from mobilization. Information about this will immediately appear in the state register " If an employee has already undergone military and military testing and is found fit, he may be sent a combat summons, which, according to new government rules, is considered served even without personal receipt.
