In the Zhytomyr region, a man, having received a summons, decided in writing to refuse to mobilize. He referred to the fact that officially working and has no reason to serve.

For this act, he was brought to criminal liability. This is stated in the verdict of the Chernyakhovsky district court of the Zhytomyr region of January 29.

In May 2024, the defendant sent a summons by mail. However, instead of appearing at the military registration and enlistment office, he wrote a statement about the refusal of mobilization, claiming that he was employed and has no grounds for military service.

In court, the accused objected to his guilt. His mother explained that after receiving the agenda, the Military Medical Commission passed, but decided not to join the army, as he had work. In addition, neither he nor members of his family have disability.

The representative of the territorial center for completing and social support said that the man did not apply for a deferment from the service. As a result, the court found him guilty under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - evasion of a military draft during mobilization.

The man was sentenced to three years in prison. However, the verdict has not yet entered into legal force, and the man has 30 days to file an appeal for this decision.
