Year-round rest is becoming the main feature of the Arabat Spit among Ukrainian resorts located on the Sea of Azov. With hot springs available for holidaymakers at any time of the year, as well as hotels and holiday camps that host guests during the off-season, there will be plenty to do outside the holiday season. In any case, it is worth coming at least for the sake of new impressions, writes the Main Internet review with reference to Arabatka experts. UA and Azov. UA.

The practice of the past year has shown that the fears hanging over the Ukrainians with the sword of Damocles related to the situation with the coronavirus are gradually giving way to the desire to take a break from pressing matters. And during the lockdown period and the additional weekends caused by it, the question of how to spend your free time and create a positive mood for yourself is especially relevant.

And Arabatskaya Strelka offers one of the most original ways of organizing leisure - swimming in a hot spring in the open air, when everything around is constrained by winter cold.

Where to go on the Arabat Spit, and what you can do there?

Many people try to go somewhere in winter to the ski resorts of Western Ukraine or to warm countries.. But if you limit your free time to only 3-4 days off, it makes no sense to break out on such trips.. For the same, to relax on the Arabat Spit alone or with your family, a few days will be enough.

So where exactly is it worth going and what will surprise the resort region when it is clearly not the season for swimming in the sea?

In the cold season, on the Arabatskaya Strelka spit, you can relax on the hot springs in Schastlivtsevo or Strelkovoye, as well as visit the famous Pink Lake.

The hot spring in Schastlivtsevo is located about 3 km south of the outskirts of the village. It is located on the side of the Sea of Azov next to the territory of the non-functioning clinic of Dr. Kozyavkin. The distance here from the nearest town of Genichesk is about 20 km.

You can swim in hot mineral water for free or for a nominal fee at any time. Although the source is fenced with concrete slabs, the passage here is open and is carried out freely in the winter.. In summer, you need to pay 5 hryvnia to enter if you enter from the side of the road.

The lake itself is an artificial pool of a spontaneous nature, that is, not ennobled in any way. It is filled through a pipe through which water is discharged from the well. On the territory near the lake there is a free toilet, benches and a changing room in the form of concrete partitions.

The Chokrak spring in Strelkovoye, or rather 3 km south of it, has been part of the Arabatskie Termy complex since 2020. This is a modern developing recreation complex, created on the basis of the natural attractions of the Arabatskaya Strelka - a thermal spring, a glycerin lake and part of the water area of the Sivash Bay.

Unlike the hot spring in Schastlivtsevo, you can relax on the thermal lake in Strelkovoye with great comfort, which is especially important in winter. The baptismal font is surrounded by a wooden parapet and you won't have to walk on the sand. You can go down into the water using special ladders covered with anti-slip mats, sun loungers are installed around. There are toilets on the territory, there are warm changing rooms with lockers, a cascade shower, there are places for cars in a guarded parking lot (UAH 20).

Entrance to the complex costs 100 hryvnia per person from 08:00 to 19:00 and 200 hryvnia from 19:00 to 23:00. Children under 12 years old are not charged. Additional entertainment events are held on holidays and opening times are subject to change.

There is a glycerin lake next to the hot spring. Its water contains natural oils that moisturize and soften the skin.. But in winter, you can only look at it, since the temperature of the water for swimming is not acceptable.

Both springs on the Arabatskaya Strelka are fed from an underground lake located at a depth of 1594 m. Their water is highly mineralized iodine-bromic sodium chloride containing orthoboric acid. Such a composition endows the springs with healing properties, therefore thermal baths are widely used to treat diseases of the musculoskeletal system and skin, diseases of the nervous, cardiovascular, genitourinary and other systems..

One of the natural adornments of the region is the Pink Lake, located on the Sivash side in the village of Priozernoye, opposite the western side of Gengorka. Distance to Genichesk - about 15 km. Previously, this lake was a source of salt extraction, and now it is considered one of the most beautiful and most spectacular locations in the region.. You can come here in winter to take some original photographs and admire the unusual landscape. In the conditions of our winter with little snow, salt drifts will create a truly winter picture.

Advantages of resting on the Arabatskaya Strelka in winter Of course, you can combine a visit to the thermal springs of the Arabatskaya Spit with a summer vacation at the sea. But swimming in summer is unlikely to bring such vivid impressions as in winter.. And this is not the only reason why it is worth coming here during the cold season..

So, despite the fact that the lion's share of hotels and recreation centers are closed at the end of the holiday season, many of them continue to work and delight guests with large discounts on accommodation. On average, the cost of a good room with heating and all amenities near the source will cost 20-40% less than in the high season.

Also, on the territory of many year-round hotels, cafes work in winter and you will not have to take care of food yourself. Some facilities offer guests saunas, billiard rooms and other unpretentious entertainment..

The number of holidaymakers in winter is much lower, so there is no rush and pandemonium typical of summer vacations.. In quarantine, this is exactly what you need.

In addition, in winter, when the body is already deficient in vitamin D, and people spend most of the day indoors, fresh sea air and outdoor entertainment will be excellent sources of vigor and good mood..

In any case, a change of scenery and serene seascapes are one of the best ways to reboot and restore physical and mental strength..
