"The process" is a film made by graduate of the School of Documentary Cinema of Marina Razbezhkina Askold Kurovy. He is the author whose works have already been on Artdestfest many times, and his "Leninland", and "Children of 404", and "September 25". The picture was produced by Germany, Estonia and Ukraine. To some extent, I would characterize it with a manifesto: it does not fully belong to the category of creative documentary, it is rather a picture-event, a picture-gesture.

From the film "The Process" it is quite obvious that Sentsov is a symbolic victim, rather than a person who committed a real crime. When the European Film Academy asked the filmmakers to speak in support of Sentsov, I recorded a video message saying the following:

the fact that the Red Guards, the "Young Guard", are in the end considered heroes and not criminals, was influenced by the further development of history. Although in principle they engaged in boycotting the occupation authorities. But when the occupation authorities suffered defeat in this war, the young guards became heroes. Sentzov - even if he did those actions - at a certain course of history, is doomed to become the same national hero ".
