In just one month of testing in the Moscow metro, the face recognition system developed by Sberbank in conjunction with VisionLab helped the police catch 42 criminals.
The system of identification of people by their faces and voice was tested at four stations of the Moscow Metro. It was used to search for citizens who were suspected of committing offenses. The system was loaded with about 50,000 photos of federal wanted criminals. Most of the photos were of poor quality. Nevertheless, in just a month the catch was 42 recidivists!
All of them were detained and sent to places of detention.
This was announced by the deputy chairman of the bank Stanislav Kuznetsov, noting that the system was used in the pilot mode. Kuznetsov expressed confidence that the novelty can be used everywhere, where there is a mass gathering of people. With her help, you can also search for missing people. The introduction of the system of the president of the Savings Bank German Gref will discuss with the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin.
